Although genuine HP ink cartridges for the Photosmart D5400 are expensive there are cheaper alternatives from other third party companies in the form of compatibles. These offer the same print yield but don’t contain the same ink as HP, so prints will not resist fading as long, but they do cost on average 60% less than genuine HP ink cartridges.
